Bathroom Decor Ideas
When renovating your bathroom, one of the last things you think about is bathroom decor ideas. However, the way you decorate your bathroom can do wonders to improving the look and feel of your powder room – here’s some ideas in creating your spa-like getaway in your home.
Color
It’s a proven fact – color can affect your mood greatly. Some of the more common color schemes for bathrooms including water colors – light blues and sand colors for a beach theme, or a bolder aquatic bathroom with turquoise and bright green. Again, just like any room in your home, pick a theme of colors – and add a few extra punches of color here and there, such as a soap set or waterproof artwork.
Storage
Having storage in your bathroom is not only a necessity, but a comfort as well. If you have ever lived in a home where you have to walk somewhere else in the house to the linen closet, you know the pitfalls of wandering around in your housecoat because you forgot to grab a towel. A shelving unit in your bathroom, perfect for towels and such, will make your bathroom a nicer place to be.

Antiques
The claw-footed tub is one of the best things to add to your bathroom to give it a bit of sophistication; but there are other options, as well. How about an old-fashioned sink, repainted and cleaned to add some industrialization? Or an antique set of drawers, used for towels? Just be sure that the antique you use will not be affected by the moisture in the air, and you’ll be set.
Seating
Seating may not be the first thing that you think of to add to your bathroom, but it can make your bathroom very comfortable. Imaging being able to sit on a comfy chair while your tub is filling; or if you’ve put some leave-in conditioner in your hair, and you’re waiting before you can wash it out. This being the bathroom, it is important to ensure that your chair can take the moisture.
Mirrors
A funky mirror can add flair and fashion to your bathroom; the reflection will also automatically increase the size of the room as well. When choosing your mirror, be sure to find one that fits your entire face – unless you are planning to have more than one mirror in your bathroom (you will need one for makeup application and doing your hair, etc.); in that case, the sky is the limit.
Artwork
Hanging artwork in your bathroom probably isn’t the first thing on your mind, but it can certainly add some pizzazz. There are many places now that can print pictures onto canvas, which is a perfect medium for your bathroom, as it can be just wiped off. Use a picture from a vacation, or one of your family – you can even choose a picture that has items hidden in it, which can provide entertainment when needed. Of course, artwork doesn’t need to hang on the wall – you can also display sand and seashells from places that you’ve visited, or pieces of colored glass.
